Discipline and Guidance

Mission

  • We firmly believe that all students are teachable and every teacher plays a role in guiding them on their paths of growth. Through different experiences, students can build positive values. In discipline and guidance, we adhere to the following principles.

Whole-school Guidance & Discipline

  • In order to provide more and better care for our students, every class is assigned two or three Class Teachers. They help to establish daily routines through various class activities. At the same time, class teachers are dedicated to create a harmonious atmosphere and a desirable environment for students’ growth.

Strict and Loving

  • We focus on the establishment of internalized values
  • We encourage students to develop their potentials and be brave enough to face difficulties and challenges;
  • We make sure that everyone is treated equally and in a just and reasonable manner;
  • Students with deviant behaviour will be able to learn the lessons and make corrections under guidance. And we will understand the reasons behind and work with parents to arrange follow-up counselling and guidance to help students learn and grow.

Positive Values

  • We emphasize on encouragement and appreciation. These are abundantly given for students’ good deeds and progress in order to cultivate their motivation for being good;
  • We set up multiple reward schemes. In each school year, students who perform well in learning, conduct and service will be commended and rewarded so as to encourage them to keep their efforts and set good examples for their peers. All commendations and credit records are shown in their transcripts, and a ‘reward notification’ or a certificate will be awarded.
  • The ‘Rainbow Scheme’ is set up to allow students to reflect on their deviant behaviour and to help them set and achieve their goals of their ‘correction plans’, which enhances their growth in personal development.

Home-School Cooperation

  • We have always valued home-school cooperation. We offer guidance and counselling to help students with difficulties and problems. We can also provide support for parents whenever need arises.

Remarks:

  • Parents can make direct contact with stationing school social workers to seek assistance when necessary.
  • Under special circumstances, teacher-in-charge or school social workers may seek professional advice in order to provide necessary and suitable guidance and counselling.
  • All cases are dealt with in accordance with the principle of confidentiality.
  • The school will provide services such as personal guidance, growth groups or professional counselling referrals basing on the needs and situations of the students concerned.
