Exposed to the scorching sun , 30 teachers and students went to Shui Hau, a place rich in ecological value and humanities resources, at the end of July. Because of the fung shui woods in the village and the nearby bushes, lots of butterflies are attracted to there for foraging and breeding. Wetlands are the growing places for various inter-tidal animals and plants. Clam digging activities, however, are causing ecological problems. This is an important habitat for lots of migratory birds in winter. The end of July is mainly for butterfly watching. The most beautiful butterflies are Common bluebottle, Paris peacock and Green-spotted Triangle. Receiving subsidy from Lantau Conservation Fund, Outdoor Wildlife Learning Hong Kong (OWLHK) organized this meaningful activity. The conservation ambassadors of the organization are committed to introducing Shui Hau Village to enable us to have a better understanding of this unique place.
