Hong Kong Metropolitan University BA (Hons) in New Music and Interactive Entertainment Workshop

The Gifted Education Team of our school co-organized a 'Laboratory visit and an exchange workshop about Bachelor of Arts with Honours in New Music and Interactive Entertainment’ with the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) on May 3, 2024. Twenty-eight S3 to S5 students, including students studying Visual Arts, Information and Communication Technology, members of the Music Society, as well as students selected as members of the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, participated in the event that day.

During the workshop, the students visited the music and mixed reality production studios, as well as the digital art laboratory equipped with large-scale immersive installations. The students had the opportunity to get an initial exposure to computer animation and visual effects, and also personally experienced the use of digital technology in image shooting and creative production. The activity broadened the students' horizons on the integration of technology into art and music, as well as provided them with a deeper understanding of the latest developments and trends in the creative industries.
