STEAM Competition and Award News for July-August 2024

Minecraft Campus Creation Project and Inclusive World Competition

Students from Secondary Two and Secondary Three of our school participated in the “Minecraft Campus Creation Project and Inclusive World Competition” organized by 10Botics.
This year's theme is “an Inclusive World”. Our students collaborated with their counterparts from non-mainstream schools to build a Minecraft campus and designed Minecraft games for them to partake in, enhancing mutual understanding, building friendship, as well as creating an inclusive world.

In the competition, our students won the First Prize in Game Design and the Excellence Award for Game Presentation and Poster.

RoboMaster Youth Tournament 2024

Oue students participated in the RoboMaster Youth Tournament (Hong Kong) 2024 organized by 'Ask Idea'. They won the group championship and advanced to the top 16 in the competition.

Awardees: Loyal Six Ngai Chun Hei, Wise Six Poon Oi Yee, Wise Six Yu Pak Kiu, Wise Six Kam Ka Ho, Courageous Six Qiu Chenqi, Loyal Four Wong Chun Yat, Honest Two Leung Ho Ching, Honest Two Leung Ching Hang

The course design featured undulating terrain, increasing the difficulty of movement. This year's strict competition rules challenged students' proficiency in robot operation and collaborative strategies. Under various tests in mechanical engineering design, programming, artificial intelligence, and robot operation, students underwent intensive training before the competition and achieved excellent results.

"CUHK Innovations ‧ Brightening the Future" Reels Competition

The Chinese University of Hong Kong held the ‘CUHK Entrepreneur Day 10th Anniversary Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition: CUHK Innovations ‧ Brightening the Future" Reels Competition’ STEAM exhibition and workshops in August.
Students studying ICT in our school participated in this event and took part in the “CUHK Innovations ‧ Brightening the Future Reels Competition - Primary and Secondary School Video Creation Competition. One of our students, Leung Wai Lap, received excellent results in this competition.
He used materials from this exhibition and workshops to shoot and produce a short video, incorporating various special effects to showcase creativity in a 30-second clip. He won the Most Creative Award and the 1st runner-up in the secondary school category.
