STEAM Study Tour in England and Denmark 2024-2025

Our school is committed to promoting STEAM education and activities, enabling students to fully unleash their potential in STEAM, enhance their technological application skills, and cultivate creative thinking abilities. In order to provide a more diverse learning opportunity, a STEAM incentive program was set up this year to sponsor six students to participate in the UK-Denmark Innovation and Technology Exchange organized by AiTLE (Association of Information Technology Leaders in Education) from January 20 to January 30, 2025. The participating students are: 5A Choi Wing Lam, 5A Azim Ka Ching, 5B Wong Ngai Hin, 4C Wong Chun Yat, 4C Mak King Chun Charles, 2D Leung Ching Hang. Besides two accompanying teachers, our Principal, Ms Ho Suk Yin also went to the UK to support and encourage the students, and to learn more about opportunities and resources for nurturing students' innovation and technology capabilities at innovation and technology exhibitions, school visits, and exchanges with technology institutions.

During the exchange period, our students participated in the largest innovation and technology exhibition in London, BETT UK, showcasing innovative technology products designed by the students themselves, introducing innovative ideas and product functionalities to people from different countries. In addition, the students participated in workshops, training sessions, and visits to different technology enterprises in the UK and Denmark, learning about the latest developments in technology education and the development of the innovation and technology industry.

Our students participated in the largest innovation and technology exhibition, BETT UK @ Excel London, in London, UK. They enthusiastically introduced their self-designed technological products to visitors and patiently answered various questions.

This exhibition not only allowed them to showcase their innovative designs, but also trained them in English communication skills and enhanced their social skills.

Our students showcased the functionalities and production of their products at BETT UK.

At the BETT UK exhibition, they gained insights into the innovative developments of various enterprises and further explored the role of different products in STEAM education.

In addition to participating in innovation and technology exhibitions and learning workshops on various projects, the students also had the opportunity to go sightseeing in London, Copenhagen, and Odense, visit famous landmarks and historical sites, and gain insights into the history and culture of the UK and Denmark, embarking on a journey through European culture.

At Oxford University, our students experienced the cultural atmosphere of a prestigious institution of higher learning. Each building there is a historical landmark with centuries of history, embodying the distinctive features and origins of the British collegiate system.

To our students, touring Denmark, the hometown of writer Hans Christian Andersen, as well as Copenhagen and Odense feel like towns straight out of a fairy tale, blending Baroque, Gothic, and Neoclassical architectural features reminiscent of a fairy tale storybook.
